Built-In Background Patterns
Several background options are available to all users. To explore the patterns, simply click on the pattern icon located above the image well.
To add a background to a spread, simply open the spread in designer view, then double-click on it in the pattern well or drag and drop it directly onto the spread.
Apply Pattern Universally
To apply a background to all pages in an album from planner view, double-click the design and it will be instantly applied to every page. Alternatively, right-click the pattern and select 'Apply pattern to all pages' from the contextual menu.
Background Pattern Opacity
To adjust the opacity of a background pattern, open the spread in designer view and select the background. Then, use the slider or enter a numerical value to adjust the opacity. Alternatively, you can use the dedicated hotkeys: Command/Ctrl + Number keys 1-9, or 0, to quickly modify the opacity.
Remove Patterns
If a background has been accidentally applied to all spreads, you can remove it from every spread by right-clicking the pattern in the pane and selecting 'Remove pattern from all pages.'
Import Custom Background Patterns
You can create and import custom background patterns with ease. The process is identical to importing PNGs or images.
-
Click the pattern well icon located above the image well.
-
Drag and drop your pattern file into the pattern well.
Applying an Image as a Background
Any image in the design or image well can be set as a background. To apply an image as your background, simply right-click on the image and select 'Set as Background' from the contextual menu. Alternatively, you can remove it by selecting 'Remove Image' from the same menu.
The background image has similar Drop Zone controls as standard images:
-
Opacity
-
Zoom
Quick Design Picker and Backgrounds
