This article covers the options for Auto Design within the software: Design for Me, Design Wizard, and the Quick Design Picker
Design for Me
The Design for Me panel creates and designs an album, wall art collections, cards, and slideshows in a single click. There are premade collections included in the software and custom collections can be created using the Design Wizard. All the cards of that type that are saved to the software will be created.
Design Wizard
The Design Wizard creates a subproject and fills it with designs based on your specifications. On each panel, the following will be listed:
- On the top of each tab, there is a toggle to turn this type of subproject on or off.
- Here, there is an option to pull up the Design for Me panel or go to basic options for Album, Wall Art, and Cards.
- Create new presets or overwrite current ones using this drop down menu.
- Close the Design Wizard
- Design the Subprojects with the options selected.
Album
- Album to Replace. Select an album to overwrite from this drop down or New Album to add on a new one.
- Album Specifications. Select your Print Lab, Book Line, and Size from these drop down menus. Custom Size can also be selected from the top drop down menu to enter your own measurements as well.
- Album Cover. If we provide the cover specs for the desired lab, select the cover from this drop down. Custom measurements can also be inputted. If your lab provides templates for their cover, select Cover Template and upload their file as a jpg or png file.
- Design Style. Select Album for our algorithm to create layouts. Design Sets or Signing Books can also be selected from this drop down menu.
- Available Images. Select All Images, Star Ratings, Favorites, or filter the image well to a custom mix and design with just those.
- Image Order. Have images designed in order of Date, Name, or a Custom Order.
- Aspect Ratios. Choose the Aspect Ratio for the images used. Choose between Original or 3:2 for all images or accent images or a mix of aspect ratios.
- Pages to Design. Input the number of pages to design in the album.
- Total Images. After selecting the available images (5) select All here to see the new photo count that will be used in the album.
- Min-Max Images on a Spread. Enter the minimum and maximum number of images on a spread. Select Clear to not have these restrictions applied.
Wall Art
- Gallery to Replace. Select a gallery to overwrite from this drop down or New Gallery to add on a new one.
- Print Company. Select the Lab to use for wall art, if your lab isn't listed, use Common Sizes Inches or Common Size Centimeters.
- Material. Select the material to use for your gallery walls.
- Design Style. Select Standard Layouts for our algorithm to create layouts. Design Sets can also be selected from this drop down menu.
- Available Images. Select All Images, Star Ratings, Favorites, or filter the image well to a custom mix and design with just those.
- Image Order. Have images designed in order of Date, Name, or a Custom Order.
- Rooms to Design. Input the number of rooms to design.
- Total Images. After selecting the available images (5) select All here to see the new photo count that will be used in the gallery.
Cards
- Cards to Replace. Select Replace or Add cards to either replace all cards or add new ones onto the existing designs.
- Size. Select the size of the cards to be created.
- Orientation. Select the orientation of the cards to design.
- Fold. Select flat or folded cards to be designed.
- Design Style. Select the card Design Style to create. It will design all cards of that type with the chosen settings.
- Available Images. Select All Images, Star Ratings, Favorites, or filter the image well to a custom mix and design with just those.
- Settings. Adjust print and size settings for the card in this box
Slideshow
- Choose Template. Choose the slideshow template for the Wizard to design. Read how to create slideshow templates here.
Quick Design Picker
The Quick Design Picker can be accessed by using the Layouts button in Planner View or Designer View. This is the button with four squares.
The album quick design picker allows choices of Design Sets for albums or magazines, custom pinned designs, signing books, and auto generated album layouts.
At the bottom of the Quick Design Picker, you can adjust the available layouts by shuffling the images, flipping the layout, choosing the area to design on, and choosing the aspect ratio of images.
The wall art quick design picker shows collections, composites, and auto generated layouts for wall art. Standard Layouts will work with the number of photos on the wall, while collections and composites have a set number of images.
The card Quick Design Picker shows the card Design Sets that have been saved or downloaded. These can be filtered by type at the top.
